There are multiple infrastructure that must be taken into effect while designing Because of the current scenario it is obvious to build environment, social context which is interwoven due to intimate nature with which our life is intertwined. Thus, introducing Biophilic design through the help of art.
This December We at Sublime would like to present to you Ms Shirley Mathew Shirley Mathew, is a graduate in Psychology ( Hons) from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi. She enrolled for intensive study in art at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, USA. Further trained in Barcelona, Spain at Escola Llotja, the institution where Pablo Picasso had studied in his early years. A short residency at Lalit Kala Academi, Delhi was enriching as an artist. She added another dimension to her creativity being trained in Tuscany, Italy and learnt new techniques to hone her skills. Her interest to learn includes courses in Madhubani Painting and Basic Paper Making tutored by eminent artists.
Her creations have been described by eminent artist (late) Yusuf Arakkal as, “ ….evocative and lively. Shirley’s forte is an uncomplicated and honest approach to her canvases. Her colours are vibrant and intimate to the eyes even when she goes monochromatic.”
Shirley represented Karnataka State at the Art Fusion Show, Mumbai, to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Statehood of Maharashtra. She has participated in more than 50 shows including several solos in prestigious art galleries of Bengaluru. Her works have been displayed in ten cities of India and on the International level, in Bahrain and USA.
As an experienced artist of nearly two decades in Bengaluru, she has created a presence in the genre of Abstract Expressionism.
