Smitha Patvardhan is a classical vocalist in the carnatic tradition. She has completed her Vidwat in music and also holds an MA (Music) from the University of Madras. While she loves the traditional classical repertoire, Smitha enjoys putting together thematic concerts centered around specific composers (e.g., Swati Tirunal, Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar), concepts (e.g., Nava Vidha Bhakti, Deepawali), and in mythological and historical icons (e.g., Rama, Krishna, Mira). Integrating her interest in music and yoga she designed a thematic concert on Ashtanga Yoga—where she strung together a series of songs from various composers to highlight the essence of the eight limbs of yoga.
Smitha has also been training select students for over a decade now. A longtime meditator and practitioner of yoga, Smitha also teaches yoga in the mysore ashtanga tradition. Smitha is also a qualified Chartered Accountant, and has over a decade’s experience in the banking industry.
