Shraddha Singh is a contemporary realist landscape painter who lives and works in Bangalore, India. A native of small village Majhilaha in district Pratapgarh, Up, her paintings are inspired by the picturesque of her homeland. The joy and peace of the farmlands and rural India takes form with a bold and harmonious colour usage and a personal distinct style in her paintings. The scenes are brought to life with bold compositions and contrasting lights and shadows. The artist invites viewer to feel the same from her eyes. She did bachelors in electronics and communication, the inspiration to become an artist was stuck in later years of her life but she was reluctant and tenacious about her art.
She is self-taught and is mentored by the Grand Landscape painter, teacher and Artist Stefan Baumann who critiques her work and has a major impact in her art journey. The major experimental influence in her artworks is story telling through the usage of colours, lights and shadows.
Her painting, “Lockdown Boredom", was selected as part of the FAV15% (jury’s favourite 15% of the entries) in the September 2020 BoldBrush Painting competition. She is also a featured artist on “B&C Artists India" website. She got an honourable mention in “3rd Women Artists Art Exhibition- September-December, 2020".
